Here's why I think we should promote atheism, as atheists. There is no god. People who believe in god frequently make mistakes due to that belief. Those mistakes damage us as atheists and the community as a whole. If they didn't believe in god, maybe they wouldn't make those mistakes. The same is true for a belief in an afterlife. Believing in an afterlife does real damage in real time.
